Weekly Vocab 11/13/14

Collage: an image that is created by assembling smaller images together to form one larger picture

Sepia Toning: a process of toning a picture to give a warmer feeling to the image. By adding chemicals to the image, the metallic silver is changed to a sulfide to increase protection of the image from the environment.

Selenium Toning: another toning process, where metallic silver is changed to silver selenide. This toning gives the image a red-brown or a purple-brown color.

Duotone: a halftone reproduction process where one contrasting color overlaps another, which is used to bring out middle tones and highlights
